Moments of Service
Meaningless.
The same cry from Solomon all of those years ago in the book of Ecclesiastes is the same cry that many people feel, maybe not out loud, but deep down inside their hearts.
Many of us, like Solomon, live in a world of abundance. We have access to the best resources and the best education at the click of a button. Yet somehow, our world still seems small and unimportant when our vision is full of ourselves.
One thing do in our Blue Sky Moments mentorship sessions, is invite our participants to care about something outside of themselves, sometimes a horse, sometimes a cow or a donkey, person or another aspect of God’s creation.
On Thursday, we held our second Moments of Service event, where welcomed four young people to serve, learn more about horses and do a short devotional together.
Our time was spent learning to serve our sweet animals, one another, and most of all, the God who gave us everything.
Acts 20:35 says “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.
Many other amazing groups and individuals have come out over the past three years and have given up countless hours and energy that could have gone to other places.
Our prayer is that every one of these individuals, including the young people who served on Thursday, would leave more blessed than they came. We hope that they leave knowing that their life matters, that they are making a difference and that God has a purpose and plan for them—that their life is not meaningless.
Thank you for your part in making these moments of meaning possible.
Blessings,
Hallie Myers
PS: If you know of a group that would like to come out and serve with us on a weekday morning, or if you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you!
