Equine Staff
At Blue Sky Acres, our program horses are the heart of everything we do—offering healing, hope, and connection to children facing physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges. Each large horse requires approximately $300 per month to cover essential care: around $150 for feed and supplements, $50 for farrier services and hoof care, and the remainder for veterinary care and daily upkeep. Our miniature horses require approximately $200 per month to cover essential care.
You can sponsor an entire horse or join others by contributing a monthly share. Every gift helps ensure these incredible animals remain healthy, happy, and ready to serve.
Your support makes the difference—thank you for partnering with us to change lives, one hoofbeat at a time.

Pintado (Todd)
Andalusian | Gelding
Todd is a sensitive soul with a watchful eye and a quiet heart. This beautiful Andalusian came to Blue Sky Acres alongside his best friend, Sierra. While Todd can be a little nervous in new situations, his gentle spirit shines through.
In fact, Todd has become a favorite among participants who struggle with anxiety. They see themselves in his careful nature, and his slow, steady steps help them feel safe, seen, and understood. He teaches us that it’s okay to take your time, to be cautious, and to lead with empathy.
With each day, Todd grows a little more confident—and it’s a gift to witness his journey alongside those who are on one of their own.

Sierra
Draft Cross | Mare
With her bold black-and-white markings and gentle eyes, Sierra often reminds us of the Chick-fil-A cow—but she’s all horse, and all heart. This sweet (and occasionally stubborn) draft cross came to Blue Sky Acres alongside her lifelong companion, Todd. Originally from Arizona, the two were part of a special program where their owner welcomed individuals with disabilities and those in need of extra care to experience healing through horses.
After her time in that program, Sierra went on to turn heads in the dressage ring—not because she looked like the other horses, but because she didn’t. Her unique appearance and kind, steady nature made her a standout.
Now retired into a slower pace of life, Sierra continues to be a grounding presence for our participants, offering both strength and sweetness to those who need it most.

Banjo
Paint Horse | Gelding
Banjo was one of the very first horses to call Blue Sky Acres home, and he’s been quietly holding down the fort ever since. Now in his 20s, Banjo may not be the most outgoing member of the herd—but for those who take the time to earn his trust, he’s a treasure.
He has a calm, steady presence and prefers peaceful one-on-one moments over big crowds. Banjo absolutely loves a good grooming session or a long scratch—especially if it comes with a little patience and a gentle hand.

Peaches
American Miniature Horse | Mare
Peaches may be small in size, but she’s full of personality! This former mama came to us from a local barn where she lovingly raised several foals. Now retired from motherhood, Peaches brings her sweet (and sometimes sassy!) spirit to Blue Sky Acres.
She loves attention—when it’s her idea—and keeps everyone on their toes with her independent streak. Whether she's making kids laugh with her expressive ears or trotting around like she owns the place, Peaches reminds us that healing can come in small, spunky packages.

Shadow
American Miniature Horse | Mare
Shadow is a gentle soul with a quiet strength. Rescued from an unknown past, this older girl has settled beautifully into life at Blue Sky Acres. At around 25 years old, she carries herself with the kind of grace and calm that only comes with time—and her sweet nature quickly wins over anyone who spends time with her.
One of Shadow’s most endearing features is a little growth in her ear that gives her a slightly quirky look, but we think it only adds to her charm. She’s a favorite among our visitors who need a soft place to land, and her calm presence brings peace wherever she goes.
