Volunteers are the heart of our organization and are necessary for us to accomplish our mission.
If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to info@blueskyacres.org. We have many opportunities for volunteers to serve here at Blue Sky Acres. We can help you find a place on one of our teams!
Each BSA team has a different age requirement as well as a weekly or monthly commitment. Training is provided where needed.

Volunteer Teams

Program Team
Work directly with horses, kids and/or their families on a team with other volunteers and staff to build relationships.
Mentor: Work with a child or teen to build a healthy, trusting relationship that promotes hope and healing; Requirements: 18+, signed Statement of Faith, weekly 2 hour commitment
Listener: Support parents/guardians of session kids through listening, encouragement and prayer. Requirements: 30+, signed Statement of Faith, weekly or bi-monthly 2 hour commitment
Play Pal: Engage siblings of session kids in play, games and fun. Requirements: 16+, signed Statement of Faith, weekly or bi-monthly 2 hour commitment

Equine Team
Support the daily health and wellness needs of our horses as they prepare to connect with session kids.
Week day/weekend feeders: This team provides hay, grain, water and a well-kept environment for the herd during meal times.
Light work is involved such as cleaning fields of manure, scrubbing water troughs, restocking hay and feed bins.
Requirements: 18+ (14+ with a guardian/parent), 1-2 hour commitment mornings and/or evenings

Property Team
Assist the staff to maintain the safety, functionality, and esthetic integrity of BSA as a safe haven for session kids and their families.
Team members help with upkeep of grounds, pastures and buildings, infrastructure development and hosting service groups.
Projects may focus on grounds beautification, gardening, and general property maintenance as a means for session kids to experience BSA as a safe haven.
This is a great opportunity for families, church Sunday school groups, or other community organizations to serve together.
Requirements: 18+, (14+ with guardian), weekly participation encouraged

Other Teams
Behind the scenes or out in front, volunteers serve by supporting the staff, kids and families either in prayer or by promoting BSA in the community.
Prayer Team: Join the staff on site each week in praying for programs and the daily operations of BSA. This is the foundation of everything we do. Requirements: no age limit; weekly commitment is encouraged
Outreach Team: Participate in outreach events, fundraisers, and/or donor follow up. Requirements: no age limit, commitment as needed
Office Support Team: Assist the staff with data entry, office cleaning, office organization, etc. Requirements: no age limit, weekly or bi-monthly encouraged
