Blue Sky Acres Gives Thanks!
On November 5th, Blue Sky Acres’ board, staff, volunteers and donors gathered together to celebrate another amazing year. We had 54 people in attendance.
Although this was not a fundraising event, Blue Sky Acres brought in over $4,000 that night in individual donations, raffle sales and supported employment product sales. We were very excited to announce the beginning of our birdhouse sales that evening as well!
Our evening began with showing the following video, created by Sunny Parker, which showcases our memories from the past year. The video is below if you would like to give it a watch!
After showing the video, our Board Chairman, Leslie Williams reviewed all of the accomplishments from the year. We then heard our program director, Jackie Garman present on each of our programs. She was followed by Larry Fort, who had the idea to start our supported employment program and Karen Signal who is a Job Coach for B&B Care Services and coaches three of our employees. Then Bill Williams shared from a volunteer perspective on his experience with the program and we heard a few words from our employees and their parents.
We finally wrapped up the evening with a few words from our Volunteer Coordinator, April McKinnon and Executive Director, Hallie Myers. To finish off the evening, we did the biggest Blue Sky Acres’ Cheer yet!
To each and every one of you who are reading this article, we would like to say a huge “thank you” for supporting us throughout the past year. We could not continue to do what we do without you!
We would also like to say a huge thank you to the Shuman Family for sponsoring this event.
