First Week of Classes
We are so pleased to say that we just completed our first week of classes with nine participants! We were blessed with great weather and lots of laughs. One student was so excited to come that she put her helmet on as soon as she got home from school, ready to come see all her horse and human friends!
Teddy, the Shetland pony, was a rockstar and worked himself up an appetite on day one but we think he really enjoyed his new “job” and we know that the kids love him! Some of the activities these children participated in include grooming and leading Teddy as well as learning more about horse behavior and how to read their body language. This six week session will primarily focus on groundwork, horse care and relationship building.
Here’s what one parent had to say after the first week of lessons:
“Thank you so much for today! It was so special to see everyone and for my daughter to feel surrounded by her friends. She was happy and talkative all the way home. It has been a long 9 months of change, pain and hard work and she has missed her happy place. She is just so filled today. She is talking about all her people and her new friend Teddy. She doesn’t always show it until she starts to process it all. Her heart is so full today and so is mine. - not just for what today was for my daughter but to see you all together and moving forward in faith and courage. God has great and beautiful plans and I am so glad to see it all coming to fruition!”
We agree with this parent and all just feel overwhelmed with thankfulness that God has allowed us to start up so quickly! We are still looking forward to our next step though and ask that you join us in prayer that God will lead us to a permanent location soon!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
